Data Controls

Data Ownership & Privacy
- Explicit User Action for Content: We only process user content that you explicitly authorize. When you press the microphone button, your audio is sent for transcription. When you use edit mode, your selected text is sent for refinement. User content is not transmitted without your clear, deliberate action.
- Transient Content Processing: Dictation audio, generated transcripts, and selected text used for voice editing are discarded from our servers after processing. The use and retention of account information, purchase records, feedback you submit, and necessary security, diagnostic, and product analytics records are governed by our Privacy Policy.
- Minimal Data, Minimal Access: We limit collection and access to what is reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service. Our data processing follows the principle of least privilege.
- No Data Selling: We never sell your data. Our business model is selling software, not user information.
- Cloud Processing: Your audio is processed in the cloud for accuracy and performance. The processed text is returned to your device, and the audio is immediately discarded.
Processing & Security
- How It Works: When you dictate, your audio is sent to our server for transcription. The text is returned to your device and all intermediate data is discarded.
- Security & Encryption: All data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). We enforce strict access controls on our infrastructure.
- Third-Party AI Partners: We use a small number of third-party AI providers for speech recognition and text processing. They process user content only to fulfill the requested feature, under applicable service terms and the zero data retention (ZDR) agreements we have entered into with them.
- Diagnostics & Service Configuration: We may use contracted providers for scrubbed crash diagnostics, service configuration, and limited product analytics. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
- Your Controls: You can revoke microphone access and manage local history on your device. To delete your Flow account and associated data, select “Delete Account” in the app. If you have uninstalled the app, you can also submit a request by following the instructions on this website’s account deletion request page.
